Domestic Bites

When ACS receives a bite report, we begin a thorough process:                                                        

First and foremost, we fulfill our obligations to the health department; we place the animal on quarantine if applicable (see pg. 7 for information from the NJ Department of Health on quarantine)

We then conduct an investigation to determine if the incident qualifies under the NJ Potentially Dangerous or Vicious Dog Laws-(NJSA 4:19-19 through 4:19-43)

Cases that qualify, where the victim wishes to testify in court are then handled in accordance with the above mentioned statutes.
